Announces an Autumn Drawing and Watercolor Workshop

SALLY CASWELL, MFA, BFA, CA, will give a ten-week Autumn Drawing and Watercolor Workshop at her Studio on the border of Barrington, RI and Swansea, MA, on Thursday Evenings from 7 - 9:45 p.m., September 17 - November, 19, 2009. An internationally exhibiting artist, Sally has won several prizes in juried exhibitions and has been published in Artist Magazine and in four books. She has taught Watercolor, Advanced Watercolor and Design professionally at Rhode Island School of Design, and in private workshops both in the U.S. and in Italy. She has taught college-level Color Theory for over twenty years.

If you’ve always wanted to improve your drawing skills along with your paintings, here's your opportunity to hone your skills in tandem. My well-lighted studio will provide you with just the relaxed setting to practice your drawing and painting skills. You will expand your abilities and explore the elements of good composition, tonal range and linear variety to create drawings you will love that will provide the structure for inspiring paintings. Exercises will treat the same subject as a drawing and a painting. Join with a creative group of fellow artists in expanding your aesthetic horizons. Class size is limited, so you are urged to register early. Tuition for the ten-week workshop is $225, payable by a check made out to Sally Caswell, mailed to Sally Caswell Studio, 611 Warren Avenue, Swansea, MA 02777. Upon receipt of your check, a materials list will be sent to you and further directions and information will be supplied. Refund policy: Withdrawals 7 days of more before the first class receive a full refund. Withdrawal after the first and before the second class, 90% refund. After the second class, there is no refund. Watercolor Plein Air Workshop

SALLY CASWELL, MFA, BFA, CA, will give an Early Autumn En Plein Air Landscape Watercolor Workshop at One-Hundred Acre Cove, Swansea, MA, on September 19 and 20, from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. An internationally exhibiting artist, Sally has won several prizes in juried exhibitions and has been published in Artist Magazine and in four books. She has taught Watercolor and Design professionally at Rhode Island School of Design, and in private workshops both in the U.S. and in Italy. She has taught college-level Color Theory for over twenty years.

In this two-day workshop learn to use the elements and principles of Design to strengthen the on-site composition of your watercolor paintings of the varied vistas of this pristine salt marsh landscape, abundant with color, a myriad of textures and wild life. Color theories of the Masters will enrich your painting experience. After a morning lecture, Sally will give individual instruction on your painting's progress. Group critiques will follow both the morning and afternoon painting sessions.
